DESCRIPTION
Cleveland a black friend who grew up in the south, but has run into racism in some places of the US. I sculpted his head in white clay as a reference to race issues and how often some blacks tried to appear white. This sculpture could be paired with the head sculpture called Calli, also on Flootie. I sculpted Calli who is white in dark brown clay as a reference to race and skin color in our society.
